Charlie Allenson TV Interview

Left brain. Right brain. Flexible brain.

Charlie Allenson believes what can make a difference between being successful, and not so much, is mental agility and confidence. To help people in all fields achieve greater mental agility, and be more confident, even in stressful situations, he conducts a unique workshop: Improving with Improv: How to think on your feet and look good doing it.

Charlie uses improvisational comedy techniques and exercises to sharpen and expand critical thinking skills, while shortening the problem solving process
and instilling greater confidence. And because humor is the teaching vehicle, there is great "sticking" power of the lessons learned.

Throughout the program time is taken to discuss each exercise as it applies to your business, and to learn from those insights.
Life, like improv, is unscripted. So using improv as a business tool is how to help you work better and more confidently in the business you're in.

Be the headlight. Not the deer.

How many times have you been stuck in a situation that hasn't gone the way you expected and you feel like that deer in the headlight. Improving with Improv helps you be the headlight. Because it's designed to help give you the tools to be more mentally flexible and confident to respond quickly and appropriately in fluid situations including:

    • Meetings
    • Brain storm sessions
    • Speeches/presentations
    • Leadership development
    • Sales calls
    • Legal work

    • Working with a client
    • Building a team
    • Pitching an idea, product or service
    • Training
    • Recruiting
    • Building morale

Whatever it is, you want to feel confident, and mentally capable to handle whatever comes at you from whatever direction it comes. Or whoever it comes from.
Improving with Improv is not about turning people into comedians. It doesn't matter if you think you're funny or not. Improving with Improv is all about expanding and enhancing each participant's own mental processes and confidence level. It's all business, but a whole lot of fun.

Improving with Improv is a participatory workshop that uses the principles of improv comedy to allow each person to:

    • Explore his/her own thought and observational processes
    • Build self-confidence and inspire trust
    • Change ineffective thinking patterns
    • Take on new roles and responsibilities
    • More easily solve relationship issues
